About Alex

Knowing from a young age that I wanted to work for myself in a practical and medical based career led me to decide on Podiatry as my profession. After studying at Stratford Grammar school for my A levels, and then a gap year of travelling, I was delighted to be accepted at Southampton University to study Podiatric Medicine. My 3 year BSc Hons course included all the relevant up to date training from lecturers who are leading specialist in their chosen podiatic field, as well as practical clinical training. I thoroughly enjoyed my training and my hard work paid off as I was awarded ‘highly commended’ in my practical exam, as well as the ‘Best overall student’ award at my graduation in 2006. I left university with a 2:1 (upper second) degree classification.

Since graduation in 2006 I have worked for Worcestershire PCT as a podiatrist at several different healthcare settings, as well as concentrating on setting up my own private practice. Through my NHS employment I receive the most up to date clinical and theoretical training, as well as having access to a broad multidisciplinary team to refer and liaise with. I feel this is an invaluable aspect to my private practice as patients can be assured that they are being treated with evidence based best practice, along with a clinician who can recommend and refer to other therapist and clinicians if necessary.

Since starting my own private practice in 2006 I have offered mobile chiropody/podiatry to patients in their own home, as well as regularly visiting several care homes in the area. I am now able to offer clinic based appointments to all patients at Broughton Hackett Health and Fitness Centre which has excellent treatment facilities and other health care professionals on sight. Please call me to discuss your treatment need.
